IDCH Needs New Database

A new database of the current trends in substance abuse is currently being prepared by the Iran Drug Control Headquarters and will be published soon, said IDCH spokesperson Parviz Afshar. “The present data belongs to 2011, and therefore new information is needed for devising and implementing better anti-drug strategies,” he told IRNA. Once the database is ready it will be sent to pertinent organizations and entities.According to the recent IDCH data, an estimated 450 tons of illicit drugs find its way into the country every year, particularly from neighboring Afghanistan, the opium capital of the world.
