Developing research and scientific cooperation between scholars and researchers from Serbia and Iran was discussed at a meeting between Sanja Vasilievic, deputy head of Novi Sad Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, and Mohammad-Javad Izadi, Iran’s consular general in Belgrade, on Wednesday in the Serbian capital. “We are looking to develop and expand cooperation with Iranian academia in production of sunflower oil due to the cost-effective cultivation of the sunflower crop,” Vasilievic said, IRNA reported. The institute founded in 1938, conducts fundamental and applied research programs primarily centered on the development of field and vegetable crop cultivars.
