Electronic health files (medical records) system has been launched at Tehran University of Medical Sciences and all the medical centers under their supervision, said Deputy Health Minister Ali Akbar Sayyari. “The project is in progress in Qom, North Khorasan, Fars, Mazandaran, and Zanjan provinces,” he said, IRNA reported. The electronic health records system will use the national ID code of every individual to record their medical history and state of health, facilitating swift and easy access to information at any given time or place across the country. The project was first introduced in the Fifth Five-Year Economic Development Plan that ended in March. Under a nationwide scheme, all public and private medical and health centers will be covered by the project.
