Five specialized MS clinics will be launched in Isfahan, Tehran, Khorasan Razavi, East Azarbaijan and Fars provinces which have the highest number of patients with multiple sclerosis, said Mohammad-Ali Sahraian, prominent neurologist and international researcher and deputy head of the Iranian MS Society. “At present about 60,000 to 70,000 people are suffering from MS in the country,” IRNA quoted him as saying. Multiple sclerosis is a long-lasting disease that can affect brain, spinal cord, and the optic nerves.
