A new food product, fish sausage, produced from the fresh water silver carp species, has received permit for mass production and is in the final stages of obtaining health clearance, said Fereydoun Rafipour, a senior official at the National Research Center of Aquatics affiliated to the Agriculture Ministry. He said the product contains 55% fish and the remaining ingredients include soybean, onion, garlic, salt and some spices, IANA reported. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a month and doesn’t contain chemical preservatives.
