Around 15,000 jobs have been created so far in the remote and underprivileged areas of Kurdistan Province by the Barakat Foundation since its establishment in 2008. The jobs were created directly or indirectly with a budget of 2,159 billion rials ($62 million), Borna News Agency reported. This is the highest number of jobs created by the foundation, which has invested in 17 economic, industrial, educational, and housing projects in the border province to date. The Barakat Foundation is dedicated to creating entrepreneurs, building schools and infrastructure in remote and underdeveloped regions. It is affiliated to the Setad, a special office for executing the decrees of the late Imam Khomeini in helping the underprivileged.
