Iodine folic acid tablets called "iodofolic", a necessary medication during pregnancy and breastfeeding, was unveiled on Tuesday in Tehran. This is the first time the medicine has been domestically produced. The research project in this regard was funded by the local knowledge-based company Pazhuhesh Kav Afagh, and the medication was produced on a mass scale at ‘Dorsa Daru’ pharmaceutical company, Mehr News Agency reported. An important source of nutrients during pregnancy, the tablets optimize folic acid and iodine levels, promotes the development of the baby's brain, eyesight and hearing and reduce the risk of birth defects in the brain and spinal cord.
