Iran has signed a memorandum of understanding with Greece to expand cooperation on science and joint research projects. The MoU was signed by the Greek Foreign Ministry’s Secretary General for International and Economic Relations Giorgos Tsipras and Iran’s Vice President for Science and Technology Affairs Sorena Sattari in Tehran last week, IRNA reported. The agreement was originally drafted during Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ visit to Iran in February, under which Tehran and Athens will boost cooperation in areas of nanotechnology, biotechnology, marine science, establishment of technological parks as well as organizing seminars, conferences and joint workshops. A joint Iran-Greek science and technology taskforce has also been formed. The European country is also participating in the four-day International Innovation and Technology Exhibition (INOTEX) underway in Tehran from May 22.
