Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi is in Geneva, Switzerland to take part in the 69th session of the World Health Assembly (May 23-28). “The minister will discuss Iran’s 2030 agenda for sustainable development during his visit. The sessions will also cover healthcare systems, communicable and non-communicable diseases, and recommendations made by the World Health Organization, said his deputy for international affairs Mohsen Asadi Lari, on Sunday. Hashemi will meet his counterparts from Switzerland, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Austria, India, South Korea, and Algeria, IRNA reported. The WHA is the decision-making body of the WHO. The three global health sector strategies prepared by the WHO to cover HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) that will cover the period 2016-2021 were finalized for consideration at this year’s meeting.
