Creating a sense of logical concern among people regarding earthquakes is necessary, said deputy head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society for education, research, and technology. “People in Iran are neither fully informed nor prepared for such a natural disaster,” Seyed Hamid Jamaleddini told Mehr News Agency. According to a study by the IRCS, nearly 60% of Iranians said they were completely unaware about the natural disaster and its consequences while 64% said their knowledge was very limited. Noting that two of the world’s worst 20 earthquakes have happened in Iran’s Rudbar and Bam cities, he underlined the importance of educating general public.
