33kg Tumor Removed

A 33 kg tumor was removed from the abdomen of a patient at Mashhad’s Imam Reza Hospital in Khorasan Razavi Province recently. The 50 year-old woman had visited the hospital complaining of stomach pain and swelling, ILNA reported. “The renal tumor was removed during a 6-hour operation by a team of specialists along with the kidney and adrenal glands it was attached to,” said Dr. Mohsen Ali Akbarian who supervised the operation. This is the first time that a tumor of such size was removed from a patient’s body at the Mashhad hospital.
