The Education Ministry’s share in the budget for the current fiscal year that began in March has increased to 310 trillion rials ($8.9 billion), Minister Ali Asghar Fani said on Wednesday.
“The budget share has seen a 2.7% increase from 236 trillion rials ($6.7 billion) last year,” he said addressing an administrative council in Kerman Province, ISNA reported. He also noted that the Rouhani government has focused on implementing the Education Reform Plan that was initially developed in 2013. The reform plan, which was 10 years in the making, is the roadmap for the ministry in the upcoming five-year economic development plan (2016-21), and calls for a socially just education system while increasing the role of the family in it, improving efficiency, and achieving the highest regional standards in education by 2030.
