Pointing to the Health Ministry’s plan to provide services to senior citizens living in smaller towns, Mahin-ol-Sadat Azimi, head of the ministry’s Elderly Healthcare Office at the Bureau of Family Health, said “The plan which started in the second half of last year (ended March 19) is being implemented in almost all the places with a population of less than 50,000.” Under the plan, basic dental services, medications to prevent osteoporosis, psychological counseling and some rehabilitative services are offered to the target population, IRNA quoted her as saying.
