The Education Ministry plans to standardize all school buildings by the end of the current Iranian year in March 2017, said Minister Ali Asghar Fani on Saturday. “Two-thirds of the school buildings have been standardized in the past decade, and the remaining will be covered this year,” he said at a function in Rasht in the northern Gilan Province, Borna News Agency reported. Standardizing school buildings includes structural integrity, lighting, heating and cooling systems, ventilation, safe access in and out of the building, and contingency equipment and facilities. There are nearly 110,000 schools under the auspices of the Education Ministry.
