There are currently 60,000 homeless addicts in the country and 30 million rials per addict ($58 million for the total) is needed to treat them “at top deaddiction centers” and prevent their relapse, Alireza Jazini, deputy secretary general of Iran’s Drug Control Headquarters said. “There are more than 1.5 million drug users in the country of whom 10% are women,” he added, reports ISNA.
