To provide better access to healthcare, the Health Ministry will establish 200 Comprehensive Cancer Centers by the end of the current Iranian year in March 2017, with different specialty levels, said Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi. “Cancer is a leading cause of premature death in the country, and we must focus more on transfer of knowhow and technology in the field to promote general healthcare,” he said during a recent trip to the central Yazd Province , ISNA reported. The centers will translate the latest scientific knowledge from laboratory research into new treatments. The centers are also expected to conduct activities in outreach and education.
