Boulevard and highways that have a record of 17% and 13% traffic accidents, respectively, are the most risky places to drive and maximum attention should be paid while driving, said Colonel Nader Rahmani, head of the Traffic Control Information Center.  The winding Imam Ali Expressway is one of the most dangerous highways in Tehran. People should reduce their speed to 80 km/hour while driving on the expressway in eastern Tehran, from Ozgol to Ayatollah Madani Street, he cautioned. Failure to pay attention when driving or giving way to drivers, are two main reasons for about 64% of road accidents,” IRNA quoted him as saying. “By respecting traffic rules and regulations the rate of road accidents can be reduced by more than half,” he added.
