Tehran Prosecutor Abbas Jafari Dowlatabadi called for a thorough investigation into the recent murder of a six-year-old Afghan girl. Addressing a meeting of district 7 court’s judges on Sunday, Dowlatabadi reiterated that in-depth investigation of such crimes is a grave responsibility of the police, IRNA reported. On April 9, an Afghan girl Setayesh was abducted in Varamin District in southern Tehran by a 17-year-old Iranian boy and brutally murdered after being sexually abused by the abductor. The youth confessed to the crime after police interrogation. Commander of Special Police Force in East of Tehran, Colonel Abdolreza Nazeri, had earlier said that the person responsible will face severe action. “All are equal before the law,” he stressed. Iran is hosting around 3 million Afghan refugees and will employ all its capacities to address their problems, he said.
