During a recent visit by an academic delegation from New Zealand to Tehran’s Sharif University, ways to develop scientific cooperation were explored.

The delegation, including Dean of Graduate Research Faculty at Victoria University of Wellington Prof. Peter Whiteford, Postgraduate Pro Vice-Chancellor at University of Waikato Prof. Kay Weaver, Dean of Graduate Research School at University of Otago Prof. Rachel Spronken-Smith and lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering at Auckland University of Technology Mehdi Shahbazpour, was received by Prof. Ali Movaghar, Dean of the International Affairs Office as well as faculty members, Sharif University  website reported.  Deputy Head of Mission at New Zealand Embassy in Tehran, Sarah Mackey, was present. Students and professors exchange program, dual degree courses, sharing experiences on science and technology parks, commercialization of research products, and holding joint research were some of the topics discussed. The delegation also paid a visit to Tehran University where a meeting was held in the presence of New Zealand Ambassador Eamonn O’Shaughnessy, and a number of academic officials.
