The Health Ministry has taken necessary measures to prevent the spread of epidemic diseases in the flood-stricken provinces by ensuring health security.
Flash floods caused by torrential rains last week across 136 of Iran’s western and southwestern cities caused severe damage to roads, bridges, dams and houses. So far, six people have lost their lives, ILNA reported.
Deputy health minister Ali Akbar Sayyari said that providing vaccine from neighboring cities, distribution of bottled water, sending health teams to emergency shelters and the constant control of food, water and sanitation in the areas besides monitoring the status of waste and sewage disposal, are among the activities undertaken by the ministry in the flood-affected areas.
