The number of schools built in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has more than doubled under the present government, said Shahin Noushabadi, deputy education minister for international affairs. “Before 2013 when President Hassan Rouhani took office, there were only seven jointly built schools for refugee and foreign kids in the country; eight new schools have been built since then in collaboration with the UN agency in the provinces,” he said at the inauguration ceremony of a new school in Shiraz, Fars Province, ILNA reported. Four other jointly financed educational centers are also planned to be set up by the end of the current Iranian year that ends next March.
