A new course on “legal rights and obligations” will be added to the school curriculum of female high school second-graders, announced Mahnaz Ahmadi, director general of Women and Family Office at the Education Ministry. “It is essential that girls learn about their social and legal rights at an early age so as to be able to exercise them, as well as fulfill their obligations,” she said, ISNA reported. The plan is being piloted in 15 provinces from the current fiscal year (started March 20), and is also intended to cover male students as well as school staff and parents.
