Comprehensive health assessment of all preschoolers will be implemented from April 21 across the country. The plan that covers more than 2 million children will start from the subtropical southern coast of the country, which encompasses Khuzestan, Bushehr, Hormozgan and Sistan-Baluchestan provinces, where there is more risk of infectious disease spread by certain types of mosquitoes, said Majid Ghadami, head of the Special Education Organization at the Education Ministry.
More than 900 medical centers and 6,000 physicians are involved in the plan, IRNA reported.
In addition to screening and testing for infectious diseases, it also includes measures to assess children’s visual and auditory health, as well as schemes to minimize oral and dental health complications.
