Each Iranian annually consumes 42 liters of carbonated drinks and in the past 20 years the figure has increased by 15% while milk and dairy products consumption has only increased by 0.1% during the same period, said Dr. Susan Fadaee, researcher at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. The global per capita consumption of carbonated drinks is about 10 liters, which means the average soft drinks consumption per person in Iran is four times the world average, ISNA reported.
