Iran-Italy Scientific Coop.

Following a MoU signed recently between the science ministers of the two countries on scientific and technological cooperation, the first meeting of the Iran-Italy joint committee for scientific cooperation was held in Tehran on Tuesday.

The session was attended by deputy science minister, Vahid Ahmadi, and Federico Cinquepalmi, director of the Office for Promotion, Planning and Coordination of International Research at the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research. The two sides exchanged views regarding operational strategies for further developing research and technology cooperation, Mehr News Agency reported.

“Iran is determined to increase scientific collaboration in areas including student exchange at PhD level, fellowships for joint research projects as well as partnership between science and technology parks and knowledge-based firms,” Ahmadi said. Cinquepalmi emphasized his country’s willingness to boost bilateral collaboration  and said, “The focus of this meeting is resumption of past relations and reestablishing mutual trust”.
