A woman in Liberia has died of Ebola just three months after the West African nation was declared free of the virus. The unidentified 30-year-old victim who died on Thursday had become unwell and was taken to a clinic in Paynesville, east of the capital Monrovia. It is the first new case in Liberia since January when the epidemic was declared over after 42 days without a new case, and a month after the last two Ebola patients left hospital, Sky News reported. The World Health Organization said one of its teams and local experts were sent to the area to “begin case investigation and identification of individuals who may have been in contact,” a statement said. Liberia, along with Sierra Leone and Guinea, were worst hit in the world’s deadliest Ebola epidemic in which more than 11,300 people lost their lives over two years.
