The Iranian Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (IACECR) and the Center of Research and Training for Occupational Safety and Health affiliated to the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare have come together to improve occupational safety and reduce work-related accidents. In a bid to uphold HSE (Health and Safety Environment) standards, the two centers signed a memorandum of understanding where the IACECR will hold educational courses for employers, employees, and trainees. Under the MoU, the center is also tasked with compiling informative booklets and educational packages, setting up an online learning system on industrial safety, and creating a database on participants of each course or workshop, ILNA reports.
The daily average rate of fatal accidents at the work place during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (ends March 19), is four, down from five in the previous year, marking a 20% drop.
