FDA Labs Certified by WHO

The Food and Drug Administration’s Central Reference Laboratory in Tehran has received a qualification certificate from the World Health Organization, said Hossein Rastegar, director-general of the center. “The certificate was issued after two years of consecutive inspections of the FDA laboratories by WHO experts from Geneva,” he told IRNA. Food and drug laboratories across the world are checked for technical and managerial criteria as well as medicine quality control protocols as per WHO standards. Once issued a qualification certificate, they can collaborate as advisors with the international organization, Rastegar said.
