The 1st International and Ninth National Iranian Neurogenetics Congress will be held March 2-4 in Tehran with prominent German and French genetics experts in attendance. The Genetics Research Center of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences and Iranian Neurogenetics Society has organized the event to bring study groups in the field together, namely researchers whose work in neuroscience, neurobiology and genetics has future implications for developing new diagnostic strategies and advanced technologies.
Neurogenetics studies the role of genetics in the function of the nervous system. The congress will prepare the grounds for Iran’s interaction with international experts in human genetics, Mehr News Agency reported.
Key foreign speakers at the event include human genetics specialists Hans Hilger Ropers, Susann Schweiger, J. Andoni Urtizberea, Markus Nothen, and Marcella Rietschel.
