The social deputy at the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation said 1.5 million women breadwinners are now covered by the foundation -17% of whom are under 40 years of age. Reza Noroozi Jafari said in an interview with ISNA the focus of the foundation is, among others, to ‘’strengthen family values, prevent risky behavior among individuals and address social maladies.’’ He added that helping needy couples to get married is another focus of their work but “with the rising inflation in recent years, the costs of tackling poverty has also increased, hence the need for more contribution from citizens.”
