Tehran Blood Transfusion Center for the first time has received the biennial certification for optimal plasma production from CSL-Plasma Inc. in Germany. An inspector from CSL-Plasma confirmed on Saturday for the second time that the Tehran Blood Transfusion Center has observed “all optimization principles in the production of blood plasma,” ISNA reported. “The first and second inspections took place four months apart, and the sustained quality of production and observance of all optimization principles were confirmed,” said Dr. Seyed Morteza Tabatabaei, director general of the Tehran Blood Transfusion Center. Among Asian and Islamic states, Iran is the only country to have obtained a quality certification from the German CSL-Plasma for blood plasma production. CSL Plasma Inc. is one of the world’s largest collectors of human plasma. Headquartered in Boca Raton, the company is a division of CSL Behring, a leader in the plasma protein therapeutics industry headquartered in the US.
