February 26, 2016 is the only day so far in the current year (ends March 19) when no traffic accident deaths were recorded across the country, said deputy head of Iranian Traffic Police, Brigadier General Taqi Mehri. The number of annual traffic fatalities registered in the country is considerably high at 28,000 deaths, with an additional 300,000 injured or disabled, requiring serious attention, ISNA reported. This year the provinces of Khorasan Razavi, Semnan, Sistan-Baluchestan and East Azarbaijan had the highest number of traffic deaths, Mehri added.
