More than 4,000 medical staff and physicians in 800 mobile medical teams are on call across Iran to provide services to travelers prior and during the Norouz, (Iranian New Year) holiday season starting March 17, said Mohsen Farhadi, deputy head of Occupational and Environmental Health Center at the Health Ministry. “The teams are on duty as of February 19 and will be on call until April 5, everyday from 8am to 8pm,” he said, ISNA reported. Farhadi added that the ministry has also assigned teams to inspect public places, restaurants, accommodation facilities, gas stations, and mid-road stops as part of the measures for public health and safety. The plan seeks to cover mostly the touristic provinces including Khorasan Razavi, Tehran, Isfahan, and Fars.
