Seventeen family and sexual health clinics will be set up in the provinces by the end of March, said Mohammad Eslami, technical deputy at the Family Health and Population Office of the Health Ministry. “Ten clinics were initially planned, but with the rising demand in the provinces the number was revised to 17,” he said, the ‘Shahrvand’ daily reported. Kermanshah, Fars, Gilan, Tehran, Alborz, and Kerman are among the provinces that have asked for the clinics. “High rate of divorce, particularly in the first five years of marriage, have prompted the authorities to establish the clinics which will provide counseling services,” Eslami said.
