Around 1.4 million deliveries were registered in the country during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (ends March 19), said Ali Akbar Mahzoun, head of Information and Statistics Department at the National Organization for Civil Registration (NOCR). The gender ratio was 104.9 boys per 100 girls. The number of male babies born was 739,795 and female, 705,118, the NOCR website reported.
