The deputy minister of health announced that health care costs will undergo another reduction from November 6, a date which coincides with the implementation of the new medical tariff codes. Dr. Iraj Harirchi told ISNA that currently, patients pay 5% of the medical bills in villages and 10% in cities, but with the launch of the new tariff codes, there will be further reduction in medical expenses and costs will drop to half. Harirchi also said since the launch of the Health Reform Plan in May, patients have saved more than $300 million on medical bills.
