Parents who don’t allow their children to attend school will be sentenced to three months in prison and fined $270 as per the law, said Ali Baqerzadeh, deputy minister of education. The Education Ministry offices in different provinces have made use of the law to overcome obstacles created by parents in the way of children’s attendance in school, Alef News Agency quoted him as saying. However, many children are still out of schools, he rued.
