The Society to Support Children Suffering from Cancer (Mahak) has obtained a score of 5.95, securing the 4th place globally in the 7th Société Generale de Surveillance (NGO) Benchmarking Certification Audit. The annual benchmarking audit assesses NGOs based on various factors, including the governing body, strategic framework, integrity management, communication advocacy and public image, human resources, fundraising and resource allocation, operations, outcomes, systematic improvement, all of which include a number of criteria. Mahak got the SGS Verified Certificate of NGO Benchmarking for the first time in November 2007. It was the first NGO in the Middle East to obtain such a certificate. It then managed to raise its position to 17 for the 2010 SGS benchmarking. Today, it ranks fourth in the latest SGS continuum of 229 audited NGOs worldwide, ISNA reported. The Geneva-based SGS is the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, recognized as the global benchmark for quality and integrity.
