The number of ambulances in the national emergency services fleet will increase to 2,000 by the end of the next Iranian year (starts March 20), said Dr. Jafar Miaadfar, executive deputy of Iran Emergency Medical Services. “So far, 800 new ambulances have been purchased and will join the national emergency fleet by the yearend,” he said, ISNA reported. Air emergency services have also been set up in 19 provinces from among the 31, the IEMS official said, and one more is to be inaugurated in Arderbil Province within a week.
