Iranian researchers have produced nanoparticles with antibacterial properties, which show a desirable performance in the presence of various types of bacteria. These types of materials can be used in the production of medical equipment as antibacterial agents as well as in textile, paint and coating industries. The nanoparticles were produced through a cost-effective and biocompatible method, reports Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC). The product has important effects, including reduction in contamination and side effects of usual antibacterial compounds. These polymers conserve their antibacterial effect for a longer time, and even if they are released into the environment, they are not very harmful due to their polymeric structure.
