There are currently 180 social service centers operating across the country, said Anoushiravan Mohseni Bandpei, head of the State Welfare Organization. “Establishing 70 more in cities across the country is on the SWO agenda,” he said, IRNA reported. The centers have so far been set up in 20 cities with a population of 50,000 and above and offer free counseling to people in social disorders and harm. In the first six months of the current Iranian year (ends March 19), more than 74,000 calls were made to the centers.  The centers are accessible via the emergency hotline 123 round the clock.
