About 60% of the top 100 students of ‘Konkur’ (Iranian university entrance exam) are admitted by the Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), said Masoud Yunesian, secretary of 17th Ibn Sina Festival. On the sidelines of the event held Wednesday at Ibn Sina Hall of TUMS, he said according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2015-2016, TUMS is ranked among the top 500 universities, IRNA reported. Iran University of Science and Technology and Sharif University of Technology, both in Tehran, are among the world’s top 400 universities. Other universities ranked in the list include, Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran), and Isfahan University of Technology. According to the ranking, California Institute of Technology (US), University of Oxford (UK), Stanford University (US), University of Cambridge (UK), and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (US) are the top 5 centers of higher learning in the world.
