At the launching of the pilot production line of anti-pain patches on Sunday, Dr Hamid Mobedi, head of the Innovative Drug Delivery Systems Group at Iran’s Polymer and Petrochemical Institute (IPPI) said that production of the patches started in 2013 under a National Master Plan.
So far, the country’s Vice Presidency for Science and Technology has contributed more than $300,000 to support the plan, IRNA quoted him as saying.
The annual domestic demand and use of the product is worth $27 million, he said.
Minister of Science Research and Technology Mohammad Farhadi was present.
The anti-pain patches help relieve some types of arthritis pain and stiffness, and can be applied to the skin from 24 hours to 3 days.
