Dr. Keivan Saati, executive secretary of the 14th congress of Iranian Academy of Restorative Dentistry announced a one-day ‘free fissure sealant’ project for Tehrani children in late November.The plan aims to prevent tooth decay in children, IRNA reported. Fissure sealants are plastic coatings that are painted on the grooves of the back teeth. They form a protective layer and prevent food and bacteria from getting stuck in the tiny grooves in the teeth.
