The Health Ministry will step up provision of dental services, particularly in remote and underprivileged areas, said Dr. Muhammad Aqajani, deputy for treatment services. “Roughly 40% of the Iranian population does not have proper or easy access to dental care centers, and we are making arrangements for clinics in urban and rural areas to offer dental services in the afternoon shifts,” he told ISNA. The ministry also has plans to set up “specialized dental clinics” in cities. “We are constructing 254 clinics in various cities to provide complete dental care. The dental care units will be managed by a board of directors.” The official did not specify when the new program would be launched.
