Iran has the potential to provide Lebanon with medical needs, Health Minister Hassan Hashemi said on Thursday while taking a tour of Rasoul Akram Hospital in Lebanon. Hashemi and his delegation arrived in Beirut following an official invitation from Lebanese Health Minister Wael Abu Faour. He said Tehran is in the process of curbing its reliance on oil revenues and boosting non-oil exports. The minister called for cooperation between the two nations in the fields of medicine and medical equipment exports, adding that Tehran is exporting pharmaceutical products to Russia, Africa several regional states, IRNA reported. In a meeting with his Syrian counterpart Nizar Yazigi in Damascuss on Thursday, Hashemi discussed ways to address issues related to implementing medical cooperation agreements signed between the two sides. Talks focused on various areas of health collaboration, mainly trade in medicine and medical supplies.
