Bodies of all missing Iranian pilgrims who died in the stampede in Mina during the last Hajj season in Saudi Arabia have been identified, said Saeed Ohadi, head of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrims Organization (IHPO). The bodies of 453 of the 469 Iranians who died during the hajj ritual “Stoning the Devil’ near Mecca have been repatriated so far, IRNA reported. On 24 September 2015, a stampede caused the deaths of at least 3,000 pilgrims of different nationalities, including pilgrims who suffocated or were crushed, making it the deadliest Hajj disaster in history. The exact cause and casualty figures for the Mina incident are disputed.
