Under the Health Reform Plan launch in May 2014, the Health Ministry has prepared a blueprint for 1,000 projects in five major areas, deputy health minister Mohammad Aqajani said. “The projects encompass supply of ICU beds, new specialized clinics, and increasing the number of maternity wards, emergency rooms and oncology wards,” he told ISNA. The projects will help meet the needs of regions lacking enough or proper healthcare or medical infrastructure. “As such, remote and underprivileged regions have been given priority.” Providing ICU beds followed by new maternity facilities are the key projects and have so far made substantial progress.
