All information regarding the health status of students aged 6-18 will be registered in a national electronic integrated data system, said Seyed Taqi Yamani, a senior official at the Health Ministry. “Because it is difficult to review and analyze information registered in the traditional way, remedial action cannot be taken by health providers in a timely manner to address problems such as obesity in children,” he said, Borna News Agency reported. Noting that obesity can become a lifelong problem if not addressed early when children are 4-9 years, Yamani said the Health Reform Plan launched in April 2014 mandates electronic health records.
