The University of Tabriz signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kazan Federal University in Tatarstan, Russia, to develop scientific and educational ties.

“We are ready to cooperate with Kazan University in different scientific fields and offer scholarships to students in master’s programs,” said deputy vice-chancellor of Tabriz University Hamid Reza Qasemzadeh, in a meeting with visiting officials of Kazan University. Joint conferences as well as research projects would be among the fields of cooperation, he added.

“Kazan University has Persian manuscripts which can be used by Tabriz University faculty for research,” said Azat Akhunov, head of the university’s Institute of Oriental Studies.

Kazan Federal University currently offers Persian literature program, Mehr News Agency reported.
